The End Of 2015

Last year in the very beginning of 2015 I really got into blogging but it didn't last long. Life. Ha!

My goal for this year is to get back into blogging and post regularly. The plan : I will start posting book reviews and more photography stuff on here, along with my youtube/booktube videos.

My goals for 2016 ...

-Post more often on my blog :) AND doing a couple book reviews a month

-Booktube Plans (A video will be linked below)

-Read 100+ books this year (mostly the unreads I have on my shelf.)

-To slow down on the amount of books I have been buying (its an addiction :)

Now, time to talk about the past year. This year has been crazy and amazing and just perfect, filled with a lot of crazy adventures and amazing books.

So lets talk about the books :)
Here is a video of me talking about all the books I read in 2015:

Thank you so much for watching and for reading. Let me know in the comments (of this post or on my booktube video) what books you read in 2015!!

13. The Madmans Daughter (The Madmans Daughter #1), By: Megan Shepherd

14. The Fly On The Wall, By: E. Lockhart

15. Pretties (Uglies #2), By: Scott Westerfeld

16. The Fairies Mistake (The Princess Tales #1), By: Gail Carson Levine

17. The Summoning (Darkest Powers #1), By: Kelley Armstrong

23. Nobody, By: Jennifer Lynn Barnes

24. Panic, By: Lauren Oliver

25. Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1), By: Marissa Meyer

26. The Selection (The Selection #1), By: Kiera Cass

I warned you. Lots and lots of books :)

Here are the ones I read for my goal this month:

Cinder: A re-told fairytale

Asylum: Scary book

I didn't read a trilogy but I did read the whole Spiderwick series.

Sadly no classic but maybe next month :)

My favorites:

The Madman's Daughter: it was very interesting and a totally unique idea. I loved the way it went into a totally different kind of mad and I loved the way it pulled me into the characters! Love.

Asylum: really loved this. It was freaky and scary but had a good plot non-the-less. The characters were like able and I enjoyed the way it slowly revealed the past.

Panic: amazing! love. love. Love! I love how she went back and forth between the two main characters and made me fall in love with them and their stories. Unlike any book I have read and beautifully written. I loved the intensity of the game and the reasons for both of them taking that risk.

Cinder: it was a bit slow at first but as the characters pulled me in and the story continued it was very interesting and I really did love it! I can't wait to read the next one. I love the way she totally changed the Cinderella story into a dystopian, robot, mystery, and so much more.

My : Not so much books:

Into The Wild: not terrible but I don't think I will be continuing this series. Although I am not really one for animal books so that might be why I didn't really love it. I enjoyed the characters and the writting was well done but it was just not my type of book.

Fly one the wall: very interesting. I mean it was a bit over the top and a little disturbing but it wasn't terrible. It was more of a funny book. But I won't be re-reading this book. It was kinda cute and silly but not amazing.

This month was full of reading :) I hope everybody else got to read tons of awesome books.

What did you guys read this month? Have you read any of these books? If so what's did you think of them?

My goal for next month:

A nonfiction

A scary book

A classic

A romance

Hope everybody had an awesome February :)

Cayla

My Favorite Moments Of January

This January has been full of crazy fun, silly faces, Bojangles, dressing up in beautiful vintage dresses and more!

Here are some of my favorite moments of this past January! :)

In the very beginning of the month I got to hang out with our awesome homeschool group! We played tons of board games and ran around the woods for quite a while :)

It was tons of fun!

This past month I have gotten to spend more time with my cousin Luna and my amazing Aunt Rachel! We have gone out for Thai food, made homemade cookies and she and my Uncle Chris have taught me many new board games! :) Thanks for hanging out with me I love you guys! <3

I love this photo of me and Luna!!! Love you my little moon girl <3

And of course doing crazy face-masked monster faces!

Our cousins Chloe and Fiona came over for a awesome two-day sleepover and we got to jump on the trampoline (and it was soaking wet so we ended up sliding all over the place :) wear crazy face masks, do a photo shoot and they even introduced us to some awesome movies!

And of course going to rollerskating with these awesome girls!

And hanging out with the Murray's practicing wheelchair wheelies! (Chloe is awesome at wheelchair wheelies by the way!  <3)

Lemme take a selfie! I think Emma was a little overwhelmed with all the kids (especially when we ate that cake out of the pan... :) but of course we had to get a picture with everybody in it :)

My lovely (crazy) family in the car headed downtown because it wasn't raining that day :) We walked around and then ended up at Tyler's and played games and ate there!

And we can't forget Repticon! Thank you Charlotte and Chloe for joining us at Repticon it was so much fun!!! We got to hold all kinds of snakes, turtles and even a few lizards :)

I had such a great time going over to my grandparents! We girls got to hang out and talk and of course try on beautiful vintage dresses that we couldn't help having a bit of fun with! <3

I love this photo of us! Thanks Grandma (and Aunt Rachel) for taking tons (Tons :) of photos of us !!

And this too cute photo of Luna in her Mothers and Aunts old shirt they wore when they were little :)

And too end this amazing month with a bit blurry dog-pile photo of me, my Aunt Rachel, my Grandma, and my cousins Fiona and Chloe! Love you girls so much! <3

This month has been amazing! Thank you everybody who has been apart of it! I will always cherish these moments and the people that sadly couldn't be apart of them.

I hope everybody else had as amazing a month as I did! <3

Cayla

The Books of January

Its almost the end of January and I read a TON of books! I thought it would be fun to share bits and pieces of my thoughts on them :)

Fangirl, By: Rainbow Rowell

Where She Went, By: Gayle Forman ( sequel to If I Stay )

Wicked Lovely, By: Melissa Marr

Ink Exchange, By: Melissa Marr ( second in the Wicked Lovely Series )

They were all amazing books and well written.

My favorite out of the ones I read was:

Where She Went.

I would almost say it was better than its prequel, If I Stay. I loved the way it went into how it changed her life and how she dealt with the pain of losing her family. It was much better written than the first one and made me feel more connected with the main characters; bringing me closer to them and their story.

My least favorite of the January reads :

Fangirl.

It wasn't terrible. I did like how it showed this girl and her sister being pulled apart and how hard that can be and how it effects us as we grow older. It was well written and brought me into the story well. Although it was very slow paced and different. It wasn't bad but not my favorite. Not one I would keep on my bookshelf forever.

Now, as we go into Feb - these are my personal reading goals--

One classic

One scary book

A trilogy

A re-told fairy tale

I hope everybody has had a great beginning to 2015 !

Read. Laugh. Love.

Sincerely,
Cayla

How To Be The Favorite Babysitter:

I had a favorite babysitter as a child: Aunt Rachel. She was my favorite for many reasons! I loved whenever she came over because I knew it would be tons of fun!!  Since then, I model my babysitting from her example.

And heres how -

(1) I Always (ALWAYS) have exciting fun game ideas. Whether its building a space ship (tent with blankets and chairs) or fighting aliens, pretending we are camping in the woods while looking out for bears and monsters. I try to be the kind of babysitter a kid actually LOOKS FORWARD to coming over because they know it means fun.

(2) I try to be their friend while also being their babysitter. This can sometimes be difficult when a child throws a tantrum. But. You are the one left in charge. The parents trust you to take care of their children so you still must make sure you abide by the rules the parents want their children to follow.

(3) I care about their opinion. Listen to what they want to play and actually take it into account. They will respect you and appreciate it when you listen to their feelings and show you care. Make sure everybody is okay with the game/movie/ you will be playing. If you are babysitting more then one child at a time, try to take turns with who gets to pick out what.

These are just a few ways to become a favorite babysitter. Stay tuned for more.

And don't forget : always be full of imagination and fun!

Sincerely,
Cayla

My First Interview: Charlotte

Hey everybody,

I am so excited to bring you Charlotte who volunteered to be my first interview. Welcome to this adventure :)

1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.

I am a bit of a neat freak. I am pretty nice. A good friend. I am nor tomboy or girly girl I am a little bit of both; kind of in the middle.

2.  What are your pet peeves?

People who be dumb on purpose to be funny. Silly popping noises. People messing with there eyes, thats so gross.

3. What are your hobbies?

Cross stitching and I collect bugs. I love reading too but I don't know if that is considered a hobby.

4. As you go to Public School what are the pros and cons of school in your opinion?

My pros would be: seeing my friends and the bus can sometimes be fun.

The cons: Bullies. Homework and sometimes my teachers can be a bit mean.

5. What are your fears?

Heights. Crazy roller coasters but thats because of the heights. Big spiders. Wild snakes. Clowns and creepy dolls.

6. Who inspires you?

My mom and dad. Some of my teachers. Also some TV characters like Doctor Who and Merlin inspire me.

7.  What are some of your favorite books?

Diary Of The Wimpy Kid is one of my favorite. I also love authors like Roald Dahl and Jacqueline Wilson their books are amazing.

8. Your favorite movies?

Guardians Of The Galaxy was awesome and so funny. The Lego Movie and Castaway are also some of my favorites.

9. Share a little about being a big sister.

It's awesome being able to teach Chloe stuff and because I am older I take care of my sister. But as I get older it can be hard because she wants to play stuff I don't really want to play. I do get babysitting practice. Although sometimes I get blamed for stuff she does because I am older. But I do love my little sister.

10. Do you believe in God?

No I don't. Although I do believe when you die your spirt is still alive in some way. I also believe in Evolution not in God creating us.

11. What do you want to be when you grow up?

A Veterinarian because I love animals. I am good with them and I want to help them.

12. Do you believe all things are possible?

Most things are possible but not all. Like flying or shooting fire out of your hands. Although I don't believe it is wrong to believe everything is possible.

Now some fun questions :)

1. Oreos or Birthday cake?

Thats a hard one but Oreos.

2. Sweet or Savory?

Savory.

3. Paint or Pencils?

Defiantly Pencils.

<3

Thank you Charlotte for sharing a bit of your life with us :)

Sincerely,
Cayla

So You Might Be Wondering.....

So you might be wondering, "what is Cayla's blog all about?"

My mom and I sat down at one of our favorite coffee shops and talked about this question....

She asked me, "What do you want to write about? What do you want to share with the world?"

We walked though what I wanted my blog to look like. What I wanted my blog it be about. We figured out what I love writing about most:

Photography: Photography will be one thing I will be using in almost every post (if not all of them).

Babysitting: I love babysitting and want to share the tips and tricks I have figured out along the way. I will do posts about what I have learned. I will talk about many things (ups and downs) that come with the job. As an example : how do you deal with a child who constantly throws tantrums or what to do when sibling rivalry causes trouble. These are things every babysitter will want to have.

How Teens View The World: I will be posting interviews with some of my friends asking them about: what they want to be when they grow up, what they struggle with most, and more questions.

Me: I will also post about myself. This is a Sincerely, Cayla letter to you all anyhow. I will write about what its like being a homeschooled teen girl. I will write about my journaling/morning pages and some other topics :).

Books: I will end each month by sharing all the books I have read. I will write a short review of each book and talk about which were my favorite, the ones I didn't like so much and the ones you all MUST read :)

I hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Cayla
